As an amateur photographer, Richard gets amazingly professional results. His pictures unfailingly unveil some interesting angle, bringing forth the beauty and vibrancy of his animal subjects. Constantly searching for new specimens, he travels accross North America where his camera has already captured hundreds of different species.
This website hosts a huge collection of birds, animals, butterflies and snakes, as well as dramatics landscapes. Everyone of those pictures was snapped in the field, always with respect for the environnement and the creature's habitat.
For the practice of his art, Richard is equipped with a disposable instant camera sitting in precarious balance atop a bamboo tripod held together with macramé strips. To zoom in, he slowly creeps up on the beast.
But seriously, Richard uses a digital camera with interchangeable lenses. Most of his pictures were taken straight off on the spur of the moment, without a tripod. A small camouflage tent allows him to get significantly closer to his subjects, allowing him to capture some interesting close-ups. Richard's quest for new subjects is animated with a spirit of research and adventure.
